I'm a garden landscape design lover for many years. Always had a beautifulgardens and always looked for ways to improve it.

best alternative to conventional landscaping in urban confines where people live in cramped accommodations in cities and towns.

Wooden containers are the best for the natural look. Generally these are rectangular or square but one can customize them according to personal likings. Many garden enthusiasts like to craft their own wooden containers. The best are certain kinds of wood like cedar as well as teak. The containers have their own drainage outlet. The outside can be left raw with a rustic look or it may be either polished or painted.

Plastic containers do not have a good name but in reality they are excellent to use either inside or outside as it can stand up to climate fluctuations as well as damages caused by whimsical weather conditions.

Polythene based plastic containers are tough and long lasting apart from being attractive to look at. It is light but sturdy and does not either crack or crumble. These containers are widely used commercially as garden containers in places like malls, hotels and many offices. Polythene is manufactured from recycled stuff and as such can be given the brand of being 'green'.

There are fibreglass containers available in various shapes, sizes and colours. These are light and sturdy. It makes them the best choice for planting bigger bushes, trees as well as many kinds of shrubs. These may be glossy or come with either a matte or metallic finish. In looks they often mime the ceramic appearance. Sometimes they are mistaken for stone. There is one negative point if these are kept outside under the direct rays of the sun for a long time the colours tend to fade. As such these are not the best answers for outdoor container gardening.

The best of decorative containers are made from ceramic. Terracotta containers are also ornate with sophisticated designs. Antique garden planters love these ceramic garden containers. These are mainly hand crafted. There is no end to the designs and colours used and add distinction to the house and home. Like the terracotta containers these have to be handled very carefully as they tend to crack and being heavy it is difficult to move them.

Garden boxes are another kind of containers. It instantly brings to the mind the garden window boxes displayed in many European countries. The boxes overflow with many flowering plants like geraniums. These garden boxes can be place on window sills that are broad and on sturdy railings bordering porches. These help to allow Nature to come into the house. All materials plastic, metal, fibreglass and wood are excellent for making awesome garden window boxes.

The staggering variety of garden containers makes it easy for anyone with a passion for plants to decorate the great indoors by bringing in the green outdoors.
