Gardening is a fun thing to do. It may be a bit pricey with the tools that we need to get started, but we definitely have some benefits from it.

It can be a form of stress reliever, it could be a good source of food if we have vegetable garden, it can also be a great addition to smarten our home and it can protect us from the harmful effects of global warming.

As we all know, global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth since the mid-20th century and its projected continuation. For us to preserve our planet, we need to do some green living stuff for a change. We can disregard plastics for every grocery, properly dispose our garbage and not burn them, plant trees to cover up the balding forest caused by frequent cutting of trees for commercial usage and conserve water to avoid shortage. All of this is helpful to fight global warming.

But do you think all of the things stated above are enough to fix the earthly problems? The thing is, these little things that we do are like puzzle to help save the Earth from damages caused by global warming. We can actually add something from this puzzle to start solving the ongoing dilemma of our planet. Why not create a simple garden in our back yard for a start? It would definitely make use of some vacant sections of our backyard. We can do container gardening, say for instance flower box gardening or self watering window box on our window sills and if we have enough space we can invite our neighbors for some community gardening. Absence of back yards due to living in apartments or condominiums is not a problem. We can make use of some space in our apartment and create an indoor garden take for example hanging baskets and indoor designer baskets with occasional flowering plants.

Indoor gardening can be fun. For a great start, we can absolutely try indoor plants with container boxes or pots. We can even have window boxes on the sills or ledges of our windows. Flowering plants would be great with pots and window boxes. Selections from Kalanchoe, Campanula, Carnation, Cyclamen, Gardenia and Hibiscus are some of the example plant gifts that would create great impact with pots and custom window boxes.

Keeping ourselves busy by having a beautiful garden to take care of is better than watching too much television with our spare time. It would definitely be helpful to our environment and at the same time we have fun doing it.
